Privacy Policy

Financial Knowledge Network, LLC (“FKN") respects the privacy of our students who utilize the Financial Knowledge registration system and its subdomains. This updated Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use and disclose your personal information when you use the FKN registration system and the services we provide. We have included changes to address the new standards introduced by the European data protection law known as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). GDPR: On May 25, 2018, a new European Union (EU) data protection law, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), took effect. The GDPR gives individuals more control over how your data is used and places certain obligations on businesses that process information of those individuals. Under GDPR, you as the user have complete access to your personal data, you have the ability to correct errors in your personal data, you can erase your personal data, object to processing of your data and export personal data.

We’ve updated our Privacy Policy and internal policies to reflect the new requirements of the GDPR. You have the ability to access, download, and request deletion of your personal information. Our updated privacy policy provides additional details about the information we collect and how we use that information. We’ve also explained your choices and the control you have over your information.

Your privacy is our top priority.

We will never sell or rent your personally identifiable information to anyone else and will not share your personally identifiable information with others except in the limited circumstances described in this Privacy Policy.

Many measures are taken to maintain the confidentiality of your personal information which include physical maintenance, technological maintenance and internal processes and procedures which are done to protect your information.

Before utilizing the Financial Knowledge Registration System, your company employer (later referred to as Client) has engaged FKN as a service provider of financial education. This privacy policy applies to only our registration system and not to any other providers of financial education that your employer may use.

What Information is Collected and How it is Collected

In order to use the FKN registration system, we will ask you to register with us. As part of the registration process, we require that you provide your first name, last name, email address, and password. You will also have the option of selecting your location but this is not a requirement.

Use of the Information We Collect

We use the information we collect to manage your financial education program with us. Our registration system gives you the ability to register for upcoming courses, view recorded classes (if applicable), obtain continuing education units (CEU) credits, and contact support. Your information is used for registration tracking purposes and also to alert you about your course registrations, cancellations, and CEU credits.

Circumstances Under Which Information We Collect is Shared

Financial Knowledge will only share your contact information (first name, last name, and email address) at the request of our Client to the extent of which courses you have registered for and/or attended for their internal use of managing our program.

Clients may also request contact information for the purpose of providing you information regarding other programs and services offered by the company.

What We Do to Protect the Data We Collect

We secure all personal information on our registration system which is secured to industry best practices.

We regularly update our systems to install security updates and patches. We have regularly scheduled maintenance periods for patching and apply all patches on a delayed schedule to ensure proper testing.

We use modern firewalls and antivirus/antimalware to prevent intrusions and detect any that have taken place. File access is logged. Any attempts to brute-force user accounts result in the account being locked and the attempt logged.

We regularly conduct virus scans and network scans on our servers and machines. All logins are logged on authentication servers and file access is logged. We verify that servers are not running extraneous programs and software firewalls are set to prevent any access from devices or programs that are not expected.

We encourage our users to play a role in securing data by creating strong passwords on our site. We recommend a password with at least 15 character that use a combination of upper and lower case letters, number and symbols.

Please be aware that no security measures are 100 percent guaranteed. Although we are confident that the measures we are taking will keep your information secure, we cannot guarantee that unauthorized third parties may be able to break through our security and access data. Financial Knowledge assumes no liability due to errors in transmission, unauthorized third-party access, or other causes beyond our control.

How You Can Update and Correct Your Personal Information on Our Site

If there are any changes to your personal identifiable information such as your first name, last name or email address you can update this information in the Edit Profile function of your student account or you may call Financial Knowledge direct at 408-414-5050 or Toll Free at 866-343-2838.

Your California Privacy Rights. Residents of the State of California, under the California Civil Code, have the right to request from certain companies conducting business in California a list of all third parties to which the company has disclosed personal information during the preceding year for direct marketing purposes and a disclosure of the shared information.
